Dr. Steele began his career with a post graduate residency at The Central Institute for Human Performance under Dr. Clayton Skaggs. During this unique opportunity he was able create/implement rehabilitation programs for members of the St. Louis Cardinals, Blues, and Rams. Dr. Steele also had the distinction of working with keynote speakers and researchers in the field of manual medicine including Pavel Kolar, Stuart McGill, Brett Winchester, and Clayton Skaggs.

Dr. Steele has since begun private practice at Premier Rehab in the greater St. Louis area. He currently lectures for the Illinois Chiropractic Society on clinical excellence and evidence based treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. He also serves on the executive board of the ICS as the southern district president. He has been certified in Motion Palpation, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, Active Release Technique, and McKenzie Directional Therapy. Dr. Steele is a Co-founder of ChiroUp. 

FTCA Podcast #102 - Dr. Mark King - Motion Palpation Institute

Mark A. King, DC is a 1982 honors graduate and student athlete of Florida Southern College and a 1986 cum laude graduate of Life Chiropractic College in Marietta Georgia. Dr. King opened the Mt. Lookout Chiropractic and Sports Injury Center with his wife, Dr. Donna Moloney, in February, 1987. Together, they run a large, eleven-doctor multi-disciplinary clinic in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Dr. King is on the post-graduate faculty of National University Health Sciences. Dr. King became the third President of the Motion Palpation Institute in 2001 and continues in that capacity. He has been an instructor for the Motion Palpation Institute since 1994 and has taught all over the world. He has co-authored a case presentation for JMPT on cervical spine instability following a traumatic automobile accident. He has written over 25 articles for Dynamic Chiropractic.

Dr. King is past president of the Southwestern Ohio Chiropractic Association and Chiropractic Choice, and he is a member of the ACA and the Ohio State Chiropractic Association.

FTCA Podcast #100 - Dr. Bill Tortoriello - Why DNS Matters

Dr. Bill Tortoriello graduated from the National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) in  2006 as a Chiropractic Physician. Soon after, Dr. Bill opened his own private practice in Chicago, Integrative Chiropractic, where he still treats patients today. 

From 2014 to 2020, and again in 2022, Dr. Bill served as adjunct faculty for the Clinical Sciences Department of NUHS, teaching Functional Rehabilitation, as well as Sports Medicine courses. 

In 2007, Dr. Bill attended his first course in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization  (DNS), a principled approach to physical medicine and rehabilitation that now serves as the basis for his treatment approach. In 2014, after completing hundreds of hours of continuing education, including a final 6-day rotation in the Physical Medicine Department of Motol Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic, Dr. Bill was officially certified as a DNS Practitioner. Furthermore, due to years of an additional,  separate track of DNS coursework that he completed, Dr. Bill was also certified as a  DNS Pediatric Practitioner, which enables him to perform a unique physical examination on infants and children, as well as provide conservative, functional 

treatment if necessary. Dr. Bill’s pediatric expertise can serve as a useful, effective adjunct to the care provided by pediatricians.  

In 2019, Dr. Bill was honored to be invited by the Prague School of Rehabilitation to attend their DNS instructor certification course which only occurs every two years in Prague at Motol Hospital. Since then, Dr. Bill has had the pleasure of teaching a variety of DNS seminars to his colleagues and students across the country. In fact,  the DNS program is responsible for educating thousands of healthcare practitioners around the world every year.

Dr. Kevin Christie is a Chiropractic Physician and Certified Ergonomic Assessments Specialist (CEAS II) who dedicates himself to treating his patients’ symptoms and physical dysfunctions, whether it’s a professional athlete, a weekend golfer, or an office worker.

Dr. Christie received his B.S. degree from the Florida State University in Exercise Physiology and was an assistant strength & conditioning coach for the women’s athletic teams.

This is where he discovered his passion for working with athletes of all levels. His education and desire for learning continued at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis where he specialized in Motion Palpation, golf biomechanics, and functional rehabilitation.

Since graduating from chiropractic school, Dr. Christie has been certified in Active Release Technique (A.R.T), A.R.T Biomechanics, Graston Technique, and Kinesio® Taping, which are the leading soft-tissue diagnostic and treatment protocols that deal with over-use strain that plagues today’s society.

The ART Biomechanics certification allows Dr. Christie to evaluate patients running and walking gait for any biomechanical deficiencies that could lead to altered performance or injury cause.Dr. Christie has been the Chiropractic/Sport Medicine Physician for multiple football academies in South Florida. He is currently the Sports Chiropractor for XPE Combine Prep Program in Boca Raton, FL.

This role includes treating the college football players during the NFL Combine Prep Program and during the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. He also has worked on over 300 NFL players and numerous MLB and NHL players for these strength & conditioning companies during their off-season Pro NFL/MLB programs.


In November 2009, Dr. Christie was appointed by Governor Charlie Crist to the Board of Athletic Trainers as the Chiropractic advisor. This appointment is through the year 2013 and will include working with and advising the board of Athletic Trainers on maintaining and improving the quality of care for Certified Athletic Trainers in the state of Florida.

In addition to his Chiropractic practice, Dr. Christie is also a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified Golf Medical Practitioner Level 3. This certification has trained him to evaluate and prescribe golf specific fitness programs to all levels of golfers for performance enhancement and injury prevention.

The combination of Chiropractic, Active Release Technique/Graston Technique, and TPI training has given Dr. Christie the opportunity to travel the PGA and Champions Tour as a treatment specialist for a select group of golfers.

John is the Senior Vice President for Public Policy and Advocacy for the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) located in Arlington Virginia and is responsible for monitoring legislation, formulating policy, and carrying out the overall political strategy for the organization.

Before coming to ACA, John was the Director of Government Affairs for the Rubber Manufacturers Association.  Prior to that, John spent ten years as a senior assistant to two members of the House of Representatives.  During his tenure on Capitol Hill, John was involved in drafting and monitoring legislation regarding transportation, taxes, and health care.  He was also active in several congressional campaigns.

A U.S. Navy veteran, John holds a BS degree from the State University of New York at Brockport, an MA degree from George Mason University and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Western States.

Dr. Kris Anderson graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Davenport campus with his DC degree in 2007. He followed that with a master’s Fellowship in Clinical Research at the Palmer Center for Chiropractic Research, where he attained his MS degree in 2010. In 2012, Dr. Anderson joined his wife, Dr. Stacy Hallgren, in her practice in Grand Forks, ND, and they continue to operate Performance Chiropractic together. In 2018, Dr. Anderson began work with Valley Community Health Center, now Spectra Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), to add chiropractic services to their scope of practice. He became their first DC, splitting his time between private practice and Spectra Health. In his role with Spectra Health, he continues seeking new treatment pathways for underserved communities, those who typically lack access to chiropractic services, and especially those in non-traditional living environments or treatment programs for substance use or other disorders.

Beyond patient care, Dr. Anderson serves the chiropractic profession in multiple other ways. He has been a board member of the ND Chiropractic Association (NDCA), including serving as president from 2019-2021, and continues to represent the NDCA in various ways as the Insurance Liaison. He was honored as the NDCA Chiropractor of the Year in 2019. Dr. Anderson has twice served on the State of ND Board of Chiropractic Examiners’ subcommittees to draft rules and regulations for the Chiropractic Practice Act, once for dry needling and the other for certified chiropractic clinical assistants. Additionally, Dr. Anderson has been a member of the Clinical Compass Board since 2018, now serving as Vice-Chair.

Since 2019, Dr. Anderson has represented the ACA as the Advisor for the American Medical Association (AMA)/Specialty Society Relative Value Scale Update Committee (RUC) Healthcare Professionals Advisory Committee (HCPAC). His experience in health policy has led to opportunities to represent the profession at national meetings convened by organizations such as CMS and PCORI. He currently serves as Vice-Chair of the ACA Health Policy and Advocacy Commission and serves multiple subcommittees as either chair or member. He became the House of Delegates Alternate Delegate for ND in 2022 and is a member of the ACA Governors Advisory Cabinet (GAC) and the ACA-PAC Capitol Club.

In addition to the NDCA, Clinical Compass, and ACA, Dr. Anderson is a member of the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC), the North American Spine Society (NASS), the American Public Health Association (APHA), and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) where he maintains an active supporting credential as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He is also a Certified Medical Examiner.

Dr. Anderson’s commitment to research has followed him from his fellowship into his practice setting. He maintains an ongoing collaboration with colleagues at multiple chiropractic institutions, which has resulted in multiple publications and posters at research conferences. He has contributed to public health with work with the ND State University School of Nursing on a tobacco cessation project and as a grantee of the ND Department of Health to improve hypertension and pre-diabetes identification and management in chiropractic practice. He is also a peer reviewer.

Dr. Anderson and his wife, Stacy, have four children and live on a small hobby ranch in rural Grand Forks County, ND. They are members of their local Lions Club International Chapter and serve their community in various other ways as well, such as church council and coaching youth sports. They enjoy spending time with family, working on their hobby ranch with their many animals, camping, and being outdoors as much as possible.

He's been training colleagues since 2013, both with the Royal College of Chiropractors Specialist Pain Faculty, and independent seminars throughout the UK. He has spoken internationally on communication skills and patient-centred care. 

Chris is currently the lead Tutor for the Royal College's South East Thames Faculty, a guest lecturer at London South Bank University, and recently collaborated with the Royal College in the development of their new Communication Practice Standards. Gregg is a 2nd generation chiropractor who is in his 35th year of practice, after graduating from LACC in 1986.  He continues to see patients and consults with chiropractors, attorneys and insurance companies.  He reviews a shit-ton of chiropractic records and performs the occasional Independent Medical Exam.  Gregg has been teaching documentation and coding to chiropractors at the post-graduate level for more than 20 years.  Gregg has a lot on his mind and has an opinion about, well, literally everything - most of which are saved for private conversations with really good Scotch.  While Gregg appreciates a good outline for podcasts, he's never actually followed one and believes that every tangent is worth exploring.
